It is with much regret that I inform you of the resignation of our friend and musician, Bede Parry. Most of you are aware of the lawsuit filed against Conception Abbey in Missouri alleging that Father Bede participated in sexual misconduct.

His resignation was tendered to me and to Bishop Dan Edwards. He wants the household to know that his primary concern is for the welfare and the good of the church, and as such, feels deeply that he must depart.

We hold no opinion to the allegations, and have assured Father Bede of that. His resignation has been accepted with much sadness. He has been reassured that we do so in fulfillment of his wish that this is what is best for the health and good of the household.

Please keep our friend Bede, and All Saints’ in your continued prayers.
